The dinner and award ceremony was held in the honor of Myanmar mountaineering team, who scaled successfully the world highest mountain, Mt. Everest, 8848m high, on the morning 7.07am of May 19, 2016, at the Mingalar Hall, Kandawgyi Palace hotel, today.
During the award ceremony, the acting president of Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering Federation, Professor Dr. Nay Soe Maung said that the climbing sports is not popular in Myanmar and it need to promote to be developed in the country.
After that, Ko Pyae Phyo Aung who is the first Myanmar youth mountaineer, stepped on the summit of Mt. Everest, revealed his climbing experience and he also said that his profound thanks belong to the Myanmar people who had prayed for the climbers to be safe and successful.
And then, the honor awards were bestowed upon the three climbers, Ko Pyae Phyo Aung, Ko Win Ko Ko and Ko Nyi Nyi Aung who scripted the new record of Myanmar mountaineering sport over 50 years history, by the managing director (MD) of AGD Bank, U Htoo Htet Tay Za.
After the honor awards were bestowed, the guests of honor and responsible persons of Htoo Group of Companies, mountaineering hobbyists and invited representatives of media watched interestedly the expedition documentary of commendable climbers of Myanmar.
Finally, all the invited guests were offered the dinner, and the modern music show was also entertained to the audience. And the dinner and award ceremony in the honor of commendable climbers of Myanmar was successfully finished.
