Myanmar Mountaineering Team Held Press Conference of Myanmar Everest Expedition

The Myanmar mountaineering team, who scaled the world highest mountain, Mount Everest successfully, held the press conference relating with their climbing experience, at the Mingalar Hall, Kandawgyi Palace Hotel on May 27th from 1pm to 3pm.

The chief executive officer of HTOO Foundation, U Paw Myint Oo and responsible persons, the acting president of Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering Federation, professor Dr. Nay Soe Maung and the mountaineering hobbyists, the responsible persons and members of University Hiking and Mountaineering association, members of Technical Climbing Club of Myanmar (TCCM) and the families of climbers and invited media representatives attended the press conference.

According to the procedures of ceremony, firstly, the acting president of Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering Federation,
Dr Nay Soe Maung delivered the opening speech and he said thanks profoundly the HTOO Foundation, which had provided
the expedition.

After that, the CEO of HTOO Foundation, U Paw Myint Oo said that the foundation is happy so much because of getting chance to support historic expedition.

Moreover, U Paw Myint Oo explained that the foundation had supported the mountaineering expedition, to proudly plant the Myanmar national flag on the Mount Everest’s summit, the expedition would be historic, to be proud as we, Myanmar citizens could scaled the summit of Mt. Everest and to uplift the national spirit.

And then, the invited representatives of media asked the question, what they would like to know, to the climbers. One of the two climbers, who scaled successfully the summit of Mt. Everest, Ko Pyae Phyo Aung told the media that their great challenges are extremely cold weather and high altitude sickness.

The Myanmar mountaineers had studied the sustainable management for natural environment in the Nepal and they wished that the Khakaborazi mountain to be promoted as the ecotourism, which can be developed in the sustainable way.
The Myanmar climbers had also said that they would like to publish a record book, which will share their experience of climbing the Mt. Everest.

The achievement of youth climbers from the TCMM is the biggest victory for Myanmar mountaineering world, within 56 years since the Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering association was established in 1960. The Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering team was established on January 5th, 1960, by the Myanmar body building father, U Shein and Colonel Hla Aung.

The HTOO Foundation is happy profoundly so much as we got chance to support this historic expedition, which scripted the new record in the history of Myanmar Mountaineering sports’ history.
