The Myanmar Mountaineering team, which consists of climbers who proudly planted the national flag as a symbol of victory at the summit of world highest mountain, Mount Everest, reached the South Col safely, at about 1.00pm.
According to the reports from the Base Camp of Mt. Everest, the two Myanmar mountaineers will descend directly from the South Col, 8,000m high, Camp-4 to the Camp-2, 6,400m high, without
resting at the Camp-3.
To say technically in term of mountaineering, you cannot say an
expedition is successfully finished unless all your team members
descended successfully to the starting point. So, the two Myanmar
climbers, Ko Pyae Phyo Aung and Ko Win Ko Ko had to descend in the
mostly safe manner.
Moreover, the mountaineering sport is not individual competition but it is team work. In mountaineering, the climbers are to compete with the nature, which totally unpredictable phenomena and they also had to sacrifice their lives to accomplish the mission.
The HTOO Foundation would like to proudly express our congratulation for the trio, the climbers who made brave attempts and conquered the world highest mountain, Mount Everest.
