The three Myanmar mountaineers, who scaled the summit of world highest mountain, Mt. Everest, will be welcomed by the patron of Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering Federation, U Tay Za at the Base Camp. The patron, U Tay Za, who is also the patron of the HTOO Foundation, departed from the Yangon International Airport at 7.30pm today, on May 20, 2016.
According to the record, over 3000 people had ascended the summit of Mount Everest before but none of them were Myanmar. So, the achievement of two climbers made the first Myanmar, who conquered the 8848m high, Mt. Everest.
The two Myanmar climbers left the Camp-4, 8,000 high, at local time 9.00am and they reached the Camp-2 now. One of the two mountaineers, Ko Pyae Phyo Aung arrived at the Camp-2 safely at 3.50pm. And, the next one, Ko Win Ko Ko reached the camp, at 5.00pm sharp. According to the reports from the Base Camp, both Myanmar mountaineers are in good health.
The patron U Tay Za, who left the Yangon Airport today, will arrive at the capital of Nepal, Kathamandu via the Bangkok on the May 21, 2016. And then, he will continue his trip to the Lukla from the Kathamandu, to reach the Base Camp of Mt. Everest, on the May 22, 2016. From the Lukla, he will go to the base camp by the helicopter, to welcome the trio, who had dignified the country.
