The Myanmar Everest expedition team, which is mainly sponsored by the HTOO Foundation and Htoo Group of Companies, reached the Phakding village about 3.35 pm local time on April 3rd. The village is located north of Lukla and south of Monjo, in the Khumbu region, northeastern Nepal.
The Myanmar mountaineering team departed from the Yangon International Airport on March 26th, to the Kathmadu, capital of the Nepal. And according to the invitation of Myanmar Embassy, they met with U Lwin Oo, who is Ambassador of Myanmar Embassy Nepal.
On April 2nd, the weather of Kathmadu airport was no favorable and they were waiting there nearly 24 hours.
And then, Myanmar mountaineering team left the Kathmadu. They arrived at the Lukla on the morning of April 3rd. The temperature of Lukla was 16 ံC, so, it was cold.
The Myanmar mountaineering team continued their journey from the Lukla to the Phakding village by hiking. They reached at the village, on April 3rd, local time 3.35 pm.
Phakding is a small village in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It lies in the Dudh Kosi river valley just north of Lukla and south of Monjo, at an altitude of 2,610 m, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The temperature at the Phakding village was 9 ံC and it was more cold than Lukla.
The Myanmar mountaineering team is now at the Phakding village and they are being excited and happy as the time to conquer the world highest mountain Everest is getting closer and closer. And, they profoundly thank the HTOO Foundation and Htoo Group of Companies for supporting to scale the Mt. Everest, to dignify the mother land.
The HTOO Foundation is also very happy to support this expedition, which is a dignifying journey to every citizen of Myanmar. Actually, the foundation is supporting as much as possible in various sector of Myanmar, such as education, health care and social welfare.
