At the Mt. Everest, where the last mountaineering seasons were canceled two times consecutively because of the fatal avalanches, two members of the Myanmar mountaineering team, Ko Pyae Phyo Aung and Ko Win Ko Ko will setup National flag proudly at the summit of world highest mountain.
For the time being, the two mountaineers are at Camp -2, 6,400m and they are preparing to continue their expedition.
One member of the mountaineering team, Ko Nyi Nyi Aung felt illness and he had to stay at the base camp according to the instruction of the doctors.
Ko Nyi Nyi Aung was checked up by the sophisticated medical
instruments three times. The doctors found that his heart beat is too
fast and the amount of oxygen in his blood circulation was downward to
57%.
During the expedition, he might face heart attacks and his lung and blood circulation could be damaged. Moreover, Ko Nyi Nyi Aung could get High Altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) inevitably as the sea level is higher and higher. So, he had to stay at the Everest Base Camp, when the two others were to scale the Mountain.
The two mountaineers, who are scaling the Mt. Everest, will leave the Camp-2 on the morning 6am of May 17th, for the Camp-3, 7,162m.
During the Mt. Everest expedition, the mountaineers are to ascend four camps from the Base Camp. After that they would make summit push from the camp-4 to conquer the world highest mountain.
Final camp, Camp - 4 is 8,000m high and it is said as a deadly zone for the climbers.
The Myanmar mountaineers will ascend to the summit of Mt. Everest according to their scheduled on the morning of May 19th, if the weather condition such as wind speed and temperature are favorable.
The HTOO Foundation would like to express our profound thanks as we got chance to support this expedition, which is the sacrificing journey of Myanmar Youth mountaineers, who are daring to risk their own safety and lives to dignify the Nation. We also make good wishes that may the youth mountaineers be safe and successful.
